We were inspired by the spectacular colours of nature and integrated the fascinating colour play in a new range of packaging. But how can polymers and plastic packaging become visually spectacular and more sustainable in one? We have found a solution that is both, financially efficient and easy-to-recycle:

The colour stylings
Lava Red
The vivid red of coral reefs pop out between coastal rocks illuminated by rays of orange sunlight. Colorstream® Lava Red represents travelling sunlight and sets packaging in motion with its energetic colour travel effect that ranges from orange-red to dark red.

Mystical Energy
Amethyst crystals depict multifaceted colours and shifts of light, much like Colorstream® Viola Fantasy. Color travel effects from violet to silver and delicate turquoise, invite to enjoy a mystical aura.

Indigo Ease
Deep blues of cornflowers depict varying colour depths and unexpected hints of different nuances. Once kissed by the golden light of the sun, silver nuances appear along the blue petals – just like Colorstream® Lapis Sunlight.

Exotic Glow
A tropical glow of sunlight creates an atmospheric feel of warm comfort. Colorstream® Tropic Sunrise evoke a playful shift of orange shimmer with tints of silver and green.

Sumptuous Greenery
Imagine fields filled with vibrant greenery on a frosty, early spring morning. Tiny, silver crystals add a fresh shimmer to blades of succulent gras and the morning’s first light adds tints of yellowish green. Colorstream® Arctic Fire combines these effects for an exciting, yet calming colour play.

Iridescent Bubbles
The iridescent shifts of colour seen on cheerful bubbles illustrate an exciting interplay of prismatic hues. Both, Colorstream® Viola Fantasy depict a transparently light, but also enticing shimmer with hints of various colours.

Add value to your product
As a permanent marking system, lasers will continue to meet safety requirements for a long lasting and durable label. No adhesion issues and no glue is required. They present no problems working with mono-materials. Materials can be easily recycled as they contain very few impurities, effectively making the pre-recycling cleaning process obsolete, allowing materials to be easily returned to processing.

Innovative Development
This project was a collaboration between 6 companies that made this appealing packaging possible from tube and flip-top closure production to incorporation of pigments, tube filling and laser marking:
Merck provides Colorstream® effect pigments for packaging, Iriotec® laser-sensitive pigments for durable laser marking and Ronastar® pigments that veil shower gel in liquid shimmer. Gabriel-Chemie developed the masterbatch while Tupack produced the cosmetic plastic tubes. Additionally, KM Packaging offers the Flip-top closure manufacturing to open and close the tubes. Finally, Emil Kiessling fills each tube with shower gel and beLaser marks the flip-top closures and/or tubes with suitable laser marking technology.
